Jeni has worked hard to ensure new housing delivers real benefits and new facilities for our whole community and will continue to work on the important task of integrating our newest residents.
On the major issues that affect Cambourne, local concerns do not appear to be being listened to. Jeni believes that this must change, which is why she has now stood for election in Cambourne twice.
Her election campaign, centred on talking to residents on the doorstep who had concerns about West Cambourne. It is clear that at present there are not enough GPs, public transport, road capacity, or even enough parking for any more development. It is also clear many residents are angered by poor bus provision.
After examining the plans, attending the meetings and asking a lot of questions, it seems clear that local concerns are just not being addressed. Good infrastructure, transport and services are vital for a successful community. The City Deal plans are still being resolved (and with a good chance of more beyond 2019).
There are many large developments on the horizon. It is crucial that Cambourne elects to the council a strong voice for their community, to ensure that their needs are addressed.
