COP26 was headline news in November, but barely gets a mention in the media now. It was supposed to be humanity's last chance to limit climate change to less than 1.5 degrees Celsius of warming, but what really happened? How significant were the agreements made?
Come and hear from a Liberal Democrat who was there and spoke to the assembled delegates: Pippa Heylings, our new Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, attended the conference in Glasgow in November 2021. She will talk to us about what happened, the importance of local government in delivering on measures to manage climate change and what we need to do next. This talk will be online on Thursday 20th January at 7.30pm and will be open to all members and supporters. There is no charge but donations to our election campaign funds will be welcome at sclibdems.org.uk/donate
. Please RSVP here and a zoom link will be circulated to those who have signed up closer to the event.
