Please join us for our first Supper Club of 2019 at Grantchester Village Hall on Friday 10th May at 7.00pm.
Our guest speaker will be Khaled Fahmy, Professor of Modern Arabic Studies at Cambridge University, who will give a talk on 'Egypt Since the Arab Spring: Sisi's New City.' Professor Fahmy is the author of numerous books on modern Egyptian history and is a highly respected champion of academic freedom. His website https://khaledfahmy.org/en/ 'Reflections on Egypt, the Middle East, and history' offers some wonderful insights ahead of what promises to be an illuminating evening.
By 10th May, we will be in the midst of a short and hectic European election campaign. This event will be an opportunity for taking a few hours away from campaigning and chatting with fellow Liberal Democrats. One of our officers will give us an update on the progress of the campaign from the Eastern Region perspective. However, as this is a social event, it is not necessary to be a member to attend - you are welcome to bring family, friends and deliverers too!
Supper and dessert will be provided by the Syrian family who have catered for our events several times in the past. There will also be a licensed pay bar available.
Because supper is being provided by outside caterers, we need an accurate count of attendees. Please book your tickets here or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve spaces.
See you all there,
Please note: when you click on the Purchase Tickets button below, you will be taken to "Make a Donation", but this just means the same as buying tickets for the event. After you have bought your tickets you will land on a further donations page - this is just a default setting of the website, and you can be assured your ticket purchase will have already been completed.
